Studio Escalier Atelier, Argenton-Chateau, France
This series of oil paintings and color studies are from my 2015 attendance at the Studio Escalier atelier program in Argenton-Chateau, France, under the tutelage of Michele Tully and Timothy Stotz. It was a memorable few months and I learned so much about light reflection and creating very accurate chroma, and I especially enjoyed that we painted using natural light from large skylights. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful and muscular ballet dancer for our live model while working in a 200+ year old converted attic studio in the middle of the French countryside. It was a real artist's paradise.
