Calm, sultry, and beguiling is the smile you must be most aware of….

Hopefully there is no venom behind ‘The Silken Smile.’

A sublime interaction between one soul brimming with life and another a hollow shell of life plays on each viewer’s perception of the benevolence or cruelty they themselves have experienced in their own lives and history. Will my audience look at this face as a loving and comforting assistant between this world and the one we all must eventually join, or see the cold ambivalence of tranquil detachment towards the suffering of others?

This multi-layered oil painting features gold and silver accents suspended within various layers of clear acrylic resin as well as a suspended mummified lizard skeleton found on my parents’ property.
